Spoiler
Hi all!

Spoiler
There are several reasons to use transfers:
  • 1. Right sided contracts.
  • 2. Gain large amount of bidding space by sacrificing cheapest bid.
  • 3. Easy sign offs.
  • 4. Simple usage.

There are several problems to use transfers:
  • 1. Wrong sided contract, despite statistics.
  • 2. 4-4 major fit with balanced hands.
  • 3. HCP limits.

Described below scheme solve in most cases 1 and 2 and is suitable for systems like precision or MOSCITO because of 3. You need also to open 1NT with (11)12-14(15)HCP, bal, include 5 major, if it is suitable for NT contract. Main advantage of scheme is available choice of side of contract, unlike regular/normal transfer scheme. This is reached by using of 1NT as relay and bidding your suit later as natural forcing. In case you like partner to play you do transfer. Invitational hands you can bid same way, because direct jumps are nat and inv, while if you like p to play you can do transfer and retransfer as rebid. I will introduce the idea by example.

1-?
1: rf, 4+
1NT: good raise or inv+, rf, relay (sorry, I know, it is not permitted in USA)
2: sign off/inv+,5+ or inv-, bal/missfit
2: inv+, 5+
2: preemptive raise
2: sign off/inv+, 5+
2NT: inv+, 3+fit
3/: inv, nf, 6+good suit
3: preemptive raise
above: splinters, not a part of scheme

1-2, 2-?
2: inv-, missfit
2: inv-, 3=1-(54)
2NT: inv+, 5+-4+, retransfer
3: inv+, 6+, retransfer
3: inv+, 5+-4+, retransfer
above: autosplinters, not a part of scheme
